A research report states that the brakes and tires of electric vehicles emit 1850 times more pollution than oil-powered cars. This study is surprising. Because so far electric vehicles are believed to be safer than petrol and diesel in terms of pollution. They emit less greenhouse gases. But new research reveals this.
According to the Emission Analytics report, electric vehicles tend to weigh more. Its tires wear out quickly due to its heavy weight. That means the validity of those tires will decrease rapidly. They release harmful chemicals into the air. Most tires are made from synthetic rubber derived from crude oil. These cause pollution. EV battery is heavier than petrol engine. This extra weight weighs on the brakes and tires and shortens their lifespan rapidly. According to the research report, both the Tesla Model Y and the Ford F-150 have about 1800 pounds of battery. The half-ton battery installed in these electric vehicles emits 400 times more emissions than a petrol car. Thus, even the supposedly safe electric vehicles can cause pollution, the report said. ā”š
