At India AI Summit 2026, PM Modi Calls For Responsible Intelligence

Artificial Intelligence isn’t just about speed anymore.

It’s about responsibility.

At the India AI Impact Summit 2026 in New Delhi, Prime Minister Narendra Modi called for the development of “responsible intelligence,” emphasising ethics, safety, and inclusive growth.

Speaking at the summit, he highlighted how AI must serve humanity — not replace judgment or widen inequalities. The focus was clear: innovation with accountability.

India has been pushing for a global AI framework that balances technological growth with ethical safeguards. The summit brought together policymakers, tech leaders, and researchers to discuss regulation, public infrastructure, and India’s digital roadmap.

In simple terms: build AI fast, but build it safely.

Why this matters: India is one of the fastest-growing digital economies. AI will shape jobs, education, healthcare, and governance. The way policies are framed now will decide who benefits — and who gets left behind.

The conversation also touched on AI’s role in public services and how governments must ensure transparency and fairness in algorithmic systems.

As AI becomes more embedded in daily life, “responsible intelligence” could become the next global standard.

India wants to be at the centre of that conversation.
