Sonali Speaks Outdated Industry Trends Persist!

Sonali Bendre, once a star heroine from Tollywood to Bollywood, recently made headlines again after a decade away from the limelight. She's currently captivating audiences with her role in the second season of "The Broken News." In a recent promotional interview for the web series, Sonali shared her candid thoughts on the evolving yet troubling practices within the industry.

"Back in 1994, when I first stepped into the industry, the environment was quite different. Producers used to create rumors between me and my fellow actors. They believed that regardless of the truth, these rumors would promote the movie. Unfortunately, this harmful trend still continues today; producers leak these baseless rumors to the media," Sonali revealed, expressing her dismay.

Moreover, Sonali highlighted the issues of body shaming she faced early in her career. "I was very slim when I first entered the industry, and producers would often make jokes about my appearance. At the time, the ideal heroine was expected to be fuller-figured, and I was frequently advised to adjust my body to fit this mold. However, I ignored these comments because I never aspired to be part of the industry; I never underwent any acting or dancing coaching until after I joined. I learned everything on the job, never anticipating that I would become a star."

Sonali's revelations shed light on the darker aspects of the film industry that persist over time, emphasizing the need for change and respect within the cinematic world.
