In Andhra Pradesh, the name of Varahi Mata is echoing everywhere, thanks to Deputy CM Pawan Kalyan's devotional deeksha. JanaSena Party announced that Pawan Kalyan will observe the Varahi Mata Deeksha for 11 days starting from June 26. During this period, he will consume only milk, fruits, and other liquid foods.
Unique Worship of Varahi Mata
Pawan Kalyan is known for his strong devotion. He worships Varahi Mata in a unique manner. Even before elections, he named his vehicle for state-wide tours after Varahi. After achieving significant success in the AP elections, he continues the Varahi Mata Deeksha this year as well.
Past Deekshas of Pawan Kalyan
Pawan Kalyan has undertaken several deekshas in the past, including the Chaturmasya Deeksha, which he observed for four months during the months of Ashadam, Shravanam, Bhadrapadam, and Ashweejam. During these deekshas, he followed strict dietary rules, consuming only sattvic food and performing homams at the end.
Significance of Varahi Mata Deeksha
Varahi Mata is believed to fulfill devotees' desires and grant auspicious results. The deeksha coincides with the Gupta Navaratri, a less-known but highly significant period in the Ashadha month. It is believed that those who observe these Navaratri with dedication will have their problems resolved by the grace of Varahi Mata.
Varahi Mata - The Goddess of Grains
Varahi Mata is one of the Saptamatrikas and is revered as the commander of all armies of Lalita Parameshwari. She embodies the forms of Mahalakshmi and is a symbol of all auspiciousness. Though fierce in appearance, she is compassionate and is believed to control the six internal enemies (arishadvargas). Varahi Mata is also known as the goddess of grains and is worshipped for a good harvest.
Resolving Earthly Problems
Those who observe Varahi Mata Deeksha with dedication are believed to have all their desires fulfilled, including resolving land disputes, court cases, health issues, instability in life, financial troubles, and more. Devotees believe that performing this deeksha will grant them protection and stability in life.
Strict Observance Rules
The deeksha involves strict practices such as waking up early, taking a head bath, wearing specific deeksha clothes, and reciting the Varahi Mata Ashtottara or Sahasranama daily. Devotees should offer red flowers and pomegranate seeds as naivedyam and avoid wearing footwear, consuming alcohol, or eating meat. They must also observe celibacy and sleep on the floor during the deeksha period.
