Akhil Akkineni’s comeback film Lenin is officially heading to OTT less than a month after its theatrical release.
The action drama, which hit cinemas on July 10, will begin streaming on ZEE5 from August 7. The film will be available in Telugu, its original language of release.
ZEE5 Announces Streaming Date
ZEE5 confirmed the OTT premiere with a new trailer, promoting Lenin as a story of love, revenge and revolution.
The trailer also features a voiceover by Akhil’s father, actor Nagarjuna Akkineni, adding extra buzz around the digital release.
Nagarjuna Backs Akhil’s Film
Nagarjuna also appeared in a special promotional video for the OTT release and encouraged audiences who missed Lenin in theatres to catch it on ZEE5.
The film’s August streaming date is also special for Nagarjuna, as it falls in his birthday month.
Akhil’s Comeback After Agent
Lenin is being positioned as a comeback for Akhil Akkineni after his 2023 spy film Agent failed commercially.
According to the Hindustan Times report citing Sacnilk, Lenin has collected around ₹49.14 crore net in India and ₹67.09 crore gross worldwide.
What Is Lenin About?
Written and directed by Murali Kishor Abburu, Lenin stars Akhil Akkineni and Bhagyashri Borse in the lead roles.
The story follows a young man whose personal journey develops into a larger battle against injustice, mixing romance, family conflict, power struggles and action.
The supporting cast includes Sivaji, Sunil, Easwari Rao, Brahmaji, Getup Srinu, Ramki and Pramod Panju.
The film is jointly produced by Nagarjuna and Suryadevara Naga Vamsi under Manam Enterprises LLP and Sithara Entertainments, with Annapurna Studios presenting it.
