🎥 The Tollywood industry has been setting the stage on fire with its expensive, pan-India films, captivating audiences worldwide. Movies like RRR, Pushpa, and Salaar have showcased the industry's prowess on a global scale. Thus, when Tollywood embarks on any big project, sky-high expectations are now the norm. Young Tiger NTR has already proven his mettle with the colossal success of RRR, earning his stripes as a big star with his acting chops and dance moves. However, despite the trend of big movies making it to the ₹100 crore club on their opening day, NTR has recently missed this milestone.
Directed by S.S. Rajamouli, 'RRR' not only entered the ₹100 crore club but also achieved worldwide success, thereby establishing NTR's box office strength. This brought immense joy to his fans and the industry alike. 'Devar', NTR's latest venture, was initially slated for an April 5 release. Had it released as planned, the opening box office collections could have created a significant buzz, especially with the summer release advantage and no competition from other superstar films.
With great music and an engaging trailer, 'Devar' could have easily grossed ₹100 crores on the first day, fuelled by pre-release hype and NTR's popularity. However, NTR's commitments to a Bollywood war movie and 'Devar' impacted its release schedule. 'Devar' is now set to hit the theaters on October 10. NTR is said to be playing a dual role in the movie, portraying both father and son.
The film also stars Bollywood's Saif Ali Khan and debutante Telugu actress Janhvi Kapoor, marking NTR's second collaboration with director Koratala Siva since the 2016 hit 'Janatha Garage'. With the movie being released in multiple languages, expectations are sky-high. The inclusion of NTR, Janhvi Kapoor, and Saif Ali Khan has generated significant buzz in Bollywood as well.
