IND Vs ENG, 2nd Test: India Beat England By 106 Runs In Vizag level 5-match series🏏✨

India vs England: The home side produced a clinical display to edge past the visitors on Day of the second Test in Visakhapatnam.🏏✨

India defeated England in a gripping second Test at the Dr. Y.S. Rajasekhara Reddy ACA-VDCA Cricket Stadium, Visakhapatnam to square the 5-match series 1-1. Chasing a record 399 to win, England fought hard but were eventually bowled out for 292 as India clinched the match by 106 runs in the second session of Day 4.

With India needing nine wickets and England requiring 332 runs to win, both teams threw punches at each other in the morning session, before the hosts wrest control back with two wickets at the stroke of Lunch, finishing the session with five wickets. England, courtesy of Zak Crawley’s breezy 73, scored 127 runs in 28.4 overs but India kept chipping away with wickets. While Kuldeep got rid of Crawley, Bumrah dismissed Jonny Bairstow for 26 in the last over before Lunch. 

After the Lunch break, Ben Stokes and Ben Foakes stitched a gritty 26-run stand before the former was sent back to the pavillion by Shreyas Iyer’s direct hit. Foakes and Hartley put on a superb 54-run stand which was ended by Bumrah who dismissed both batters. Hartley was the last batter to be dismissed for 36. Bumrah finished with three wickets in the second innings and nine wickets in the match.

Ashwin, who needed, four wickets to reach 500 wickets dismissed Ollie Pope (23) and Joe Root (16) in the morning session on Day 4 but failed to get the landmark wicket and finished with figures of 3 for 72. He claimed the wicket of Ben Duckett in the last session on Day 3. 

After bagging five wickets in the first session, India took the remaining four English wickets in the post-lunch session to bowl out the visitors in 69.2 overs. While Stokes (11) was run out, Bumrah snared the wickets of Ben Foakes (36) and Tom Hartley (36), while Mukesh Kumar dismissed Shoaib Bashir (0) to bag his first and only wicket of the match.

In the morning session, R Ashwin took two while Kuldeep Yadav and Axar Patel (1/75) accounted for one scalp each.

Yashasvi Jaiswal was named Player of the Match for his sensational knock of 209 in the opening essay. The third Test of the five-match series will be played in Rajkot from February 15.🏏✨
