There are thousands of political parties in the country. Out of this unrecognized parties (2,597) are more. There are 57 state parties and 6 national parties (BJP, Congress, BSP, CPM, National People's Party, AAP). Out of the 14 national parties that contested the first general election in 1951, now only 6 will contest the Lok Sabha elections. Compared to then, the number of national parties in the country has decreased.👥📝
