The High Court has issued important directions on the appointment of Governor's quota MLCs. The High Court ordered the governor to reconsider the election of Dasoju Shravan and Kura Satyanarayana. Earlier, the High Court struck down the gazette issued by the state government appointing Kodandaram and Ameer Ali Khan. It ordered that the governor should abide by the decision of the cabinet and appoint new MLCs. The High Court said that the Governor has no authority to reject the appointment of Dasoju Shravan and Kura Satyanarayana, and suggested that it should be referred to the Cabinet and should not be rejected.
