#CWCMeet in Delhi: Rahul Gandhi to Take Key Responsibilities

In a significant development, Rahul Gandhi is expected to be formally elected as the Leader of the Opposition in the new Lok Sabha. This decision is set to be ratified during the Congress Working Committee (CWC) meeting happening today in Delhi. This is the first CWC meeting post the Lok Sabha elections, and it will be held at Hotel Ashoka in the evening.

The newly elected party MPs, along with Rajya Sabha Congress MPs, have already reached Delhi to attend this crucial meeting. During the session, a resolution to propose Rahul Gandhi as the Leader of the Opposition will be passed. The meeting will also cover various political issues and strategies for the upcoming parliamentary sessions.

Post the meeting, Rahul Gandhi will address the new MPs, providing them with guidance and outlining strategies for both inside and outside the Parliament. The meeting will also serve as a training session on parliamentary traditions for the new members.

Rahul Gandhi will later host a dinner for the Congress MPs. After a decade, the Congress has secured enough seats to officially obtain the Leader of the Opposition status. In the previous elections of 2014 and 2019, the Congress didn't secure enough seats to claim this status, leaving leaders like Sonia Gandhi and Rahul Gandhi without the official opposition leader position. With the Congress now holding more than 10% of the seats, they are poised to effectively challenge the government's shortcomings. This new role offers Rahul Gandhi a platform to solidify his reputation as a strong alternative leader to Modi.
